New Delhi:  The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought a reply from the LG, DDA and L&DO on a petition challenging land acquisition of an Urban Village in North West Delhi.

The bench issued show cause notice to the authorities on the petition filed by the residents of village Pooth Khurd, and asked them to file replies by October 24.

The Court also directed the government to maintain status quo regarding the title and possession of the land. Appearing for the petitioners, advocate Surat Singh alleged that the government is abusing its power of land acquisition by seeking to acquire the land of Pooth Khurd in the name of widening the 80 meter road.
